About Cycle & Wisdom

What this site is

cycleandwisdom.com is a timing almanac. Every article answers one kind of question: when. When to plant, when a seed sprouts, when an insect emerges, when a yard task is due, when a seasonal marker arrives. We do not publish how-to-fix guides, consumption guides, or safety determinations.

Our timing is for the United States, built on the 2023 USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map, NOAA/NWS climate normals, and named university extension programs.

Who reviews it

Every article is reviewed by a named human before it publishes, and that reviewer is shown on each article with a linked profile, so you always know who stood behind what you are reading.

We are straightforward about what that review is and is not. Our reviewer does not claim to be a gardening expert and does not garden in the US zones we write about. The job is narrower and, we think, more useful: to verify that every date and range on this site faithfully matches the USDA, NOAA, and extension sources we name, and to date when we last checked. The expertise lives in those sources; our job is to report them accurately and tell you exactly where they came from.

How the content is made

Research and drafting are AI-assisted, and a named human reviews every article before it publishes. We say this plainly rather than hide it. The full process is on our how we create our content page.

What we will not do

We answer when, not how to fix and not how to consume. We do not tell you whether a plant, seed, or berry is safe to eat. We give no medical, chemical, or safety instructions. If a question needs a doctor, a poison-control center, a licensed applicator, or your local extension office, we say so and send you there.

When we are wrong

Dates shift and sources update. Our corrections page logs what we changed and when. If you spot an error, tell us and we will fix it and record it.
